My mission is to help you feel AMAZING in your body and to improve wellness for women! Through exercise, nutrition and lifestyle, aging like you never imagined is not only possible but probable! Whether your goal is to build sexy muscle, lose body fat, look incredible for a specific event, love your body or stay committed to a fit lifestyle, I can help get you there!


My focus is to work virtually with women age 30 and up. I’ve found this is where the vast amount my experience comes from. If you’re in your 30’s how do you want to look and feel when your in your 40’s and 50’s? The different stages of menopause can affect your body and mind. Getting into a good fitness routine now will make your transition smoother.

Over the years many women confide, “what they used to do to get back in shape doesn’t work anymore.” If you find yourself struggling with hormone issues, you’re definitely NOT alone.

My one-on-one Strong by Shawn Fitness coaching is for anyone who is looking for a different kind of personal training program that is effective and sustainable. I’ve been training women of all ages for several years and I always start by understanding where you’re at now.


I take into account all of the things that happen in a woman's body that truly affects our health and exercise. Check out these little known facts below to learn more about menstrual and menopausal health!


  • Menopause and Exercise

    • Age-related loss of muscle mass begins in the 30’s and accelerates during the menopause transition.
    • Exercise is AWESOME medicine - especially when it comes to menopause!!
    • Weight gain during menopause is more age-related than hormone-related.  Hormonal changes contribute to the redistribution of fat, which equals age-related weight gain is deposited around the internal organs, increasing abdominal obesity.
    • You’re officially in menopause when you’ve gone 12 consecutive months without a period. So you won’t KNOW you’re in menopause until its over! The median age for menopause is 48-52 years old.
    • Post-menopause is the period after menopause. During this time you may experience physical symptoms like in perimenopause. They may also include psychological symptoms like anxiety, mood swings and depression.
  • Menstrual Cycles and Health

    • If you still have your menstrual cycle, you’re premenopausal.
    • If you’re having irregular menstrual cycles but also start to experience mood swings, hot flashes and more, that’s the transition period between reproductive and non-reproductive years called perimenopause. This usually begins around age 47, but is also common between 39 and 51 years old, and lasts 4-8 years.
